Learning Objectives

Working individually and collaboratively, students:

  • Explore and analyse the nature and purpose of storytelling, the messages held within the stories and their cultural significance.
  • Learn stories of The Dreaming and how they are explicably connected to the Land, giving the Adnyamathanha people direction for living.
  • Explore how culture is evident within stories.
  • Research Adnyamathanha Rock Art to understand how art communicates stories and information through the generations and preserves culture.
  • Reflect on their learning about Rock Art by creating their own artwork that captures a story, historical event or an act of Mother Nature.
