Kangaroo Beach Series 3

This resource centres on the health, wellbeing, safety understandings and physical activity skills that are explored in Series 3 of Kangaroo Beach. It presents a lessons with engaging tasks for Foundation to Year 2 students including clips, discussion starters, movement challenges and creative exercises.

Lesson 1: Safety
Spyke is super excited to join the Kangaroo Beach Junior Cadet team, but she has a few lessons to learn first about staying safe at the beach – and in this lesson, students can learn them too!
Lesson 2: Challenge
In this lesson, students can exercise their bodies and their minds, by building muscles to assist with floating and designing their own movement challenge.
Lesson 3: Team Work
The Junior Cadets join once again with their Junior Junior Cadet buddies and teach them about why it’s always best to swim in pairs. In this lesson you will use music and role plays to explore ways to stay safe in the water with a friend.
Lesson 4: Swimming
Neville’s mum comes to visit and the Cadets help her to improve her swimming stroke and techniques. In this lesson, students work on dryland activities that will improve their swimming and revises a variety of important water safety rules.
Lesson 5: Balance
In this lesson, students will reflect on skills they have improved at, strengthen their balance skills and design their own physical activities and nature play experiences.
