Character Design for Animation

Get ready to explore the world of animation with Eddie’s Lil' Homies. This resource takes students behind the scenes to see how characters are created, from early sketches to the final design. Suitable for Foundation - Year 3, it guides students through simple steps: developing a character backstory, sketching their character and then adding fun details like costumes and props.
Using a recorded virtual workshop and printable character design worksheets, students are guided in the processes of character design and encouraged to use their imagination to create unique characters ready for the screen.

Character Line Up
Character line ups help designers make sure all the characters look like they belong in the same world. By placing them side by side, designers can check their sizes, shapes and styles to see if they match. This helps keep everything looking neat and balanced and makes it easier to spot anything that looks out of place. Discuss the following character line up from Eddie's Lil' Homies.
