Consent and Respectful Relationships Curated Clip Collection

This clip collection is designed to help students understand and practice respectful communication, focusing on concepts of consent, bodily autonomy and personal boundaries. Using clips from Australian children’s television content, students work through activities that build their awareness of how to ask for, give, and deny permission.


    Foundation, Year 1 and Year 2

    Explore how to seek, give, or deny permission respectfully and develop strategies for fostering respectful interactions through reflective discussions, role-playing, and collaborative activities.

    Years 3 - 4

    Rehearse and refine strategies for seeking, giving, and denying permission respectfully, and explore the importance of respecting others' belongings, choices, and boundaries.

    Years 5 - 6

    Develop strategies for seeking, giving, and denying consent respectfully, while understanding the importance of personal boundaries, privacy, and readiness in building trust and respectful relationships.

    Years 7 - 8

    Practise assertive and respectful communication strategies to seek, give, and deny consent while understanding the ethical importance of consent in personal, social, and digital contexts.

    Years 9 - 12

    Examine the importance of consent, communication, and trust in relationships, and critically evaluate strategies to navigate and address situations involving privacy, boundaries, and respect.
